i'm sorry, but lucky has tumors everywhere. big ones.
every time i spend time on the "referral medicine" service, i have to see these cases that other vets send our way because either a) we have diagnostic/treatment capabilities that most practices don't have (ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, etc), b) there's something really screwy going on, c) someone wants a 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th) opinion. and a lot of the time that happens, we find cancer. it kind of sucks to always be telling people that their beloved companion has cancer.
so today i had an owner that came for an ultrasound, prepared to have the "C" word dropped on her, and i got to tell her that her cat DIDN'T have cancer! she was so excited. sure, he'll still be peeing blood for a while until they can get rid of the bladder stones, but at least it's not cancer.
hopefully tomorrow there won't be a rebound effect after my good fortune today.
