eew, my tonsil is gross

so i had this sore throat (really half of a sore throat, it was only on one side) that was bugging the crap out of me for like a week. and i couldn't stop palpating my big lymph nodes, i was becoming obsessive. so when i was getting worried that i was starting to get an earache in addition to everything, i finally went to the doctor on monday. when it was only my throat, i figured the doctor would just tell me to suck it up and wait it out again like the last gime. but then when it was my ear...

anyway, my ear was totally fine, he told me the pain was all referred from my throat. and he also told me i had a tonsillolith, or basically a inspissated/impacted wad of crap that was brewing in my tonsillar crypt and irritating everything. gross. anyway, i popped the sucker out and my throat feels great.

when i googled "tonsillolith," all these ads came up for fighting bad breath. apparently these little things are supposed to smell foul. geez, i hope i didn't have horrible breath for like a month when this thing was building up.

so my grossness was more yellow than this guy and also more round.

the moral of the story is, if your throat hurts and feels like there's something stuck back there, check out your crypt for a wad of nasty. eww.
