pre-election post

so it's about 4:30 a.m. on election day. i'm closing in on the end of my work week (only 3 more hours to go!!!) and i'm contemplating taking a little nap in the hidey-hole (see previous post). but i thought i'd waste a little more time online first. my patients downstairs are fine, don't worry. on tuesday mornings the floor guy comes to buff the floors so the machine is loud and obnoxious. i had to get away from it upstairs.

today i plan on going home, napping a little, hopefully getting motivated enough to get up and leave the house to play outside (it may be in the rain), then going to an election-day party tonight (basically drinking some beer and watching the news come in). thinking about it kind of stresses me out right now; it could either be a great evening where we're all relieved and our hope in humanity is a little restored, or we could realize that things are not going the way we thought and end the evening feeling worried about what's to come and having lost faith in our fellow americans. we'll see i guess. maybe i'm being a little melodramatic.

so i had a birthday recently and i'm almost to the dreaded 3-0. then i'll be really old. the day wasn't that exciting because i slept for most of it and then went to work that night. i did get a cake at work and felt all special. chris got me some fancy fenders for my bike so i'll have to take pictures when i get them on. speaking of bikes, i drove to work last night and it was strange since i'm so used to biking there. it was like a little vacation - and it will be especially extravagant this morning when i just hop in the car instead of bike home. hopefully it will be pouring rain and turn into a great sleeping day. ok time to nap now.
