my mom and chris's mom were here last weekend for a visit to the awesome northwest, finally. we had a pretty exhausting agenda and were all tired by the end. then i made my mom miss her flight home because we spaced out shopping for plants but she was a good sport.

mom and i at multnomah falls. i have so many pictures of this waterfall now that it's kind of ridiculous, but they're always beautiful. this was the first time i had been on a saturday afternoon so it was the most crowded i had ever seen.

our visit to crater lake...almost. here is the road going to the entrance of the park (you can see the small check-in station in the distance). so who knew that the park wouldn't open until june? perhaps if we would have checked the website before leaving... so that was kind of disappointing. at least we were headed in that general direction in our travels anyway and it wasn't too far out of the way.

chris's great great aunt lucille. this ended up being one of my favorite parts of the trip. she was such a sweet and thoughtful woman and it seemed like everything she said was so poignant. it's very grounding to listen to someone with so much life experience who has seen so much change in the world.

the redwoods. i'm already planning my next trip so we can camp under them again.
now we are preparing for a frugal may since we apparently had more expenses than we thought in april, and we have a lot of crazy travels planned for june and july. at least camping is cheap.
