what the heck i'm doing around the house (mostly with paint)

well, here's what i'm not doing. living room, still empty and sad.
the random green chris bought for the bathroom ended up going on one of the walls in the bedroom and some of the kitchen. notice the sweet shelf headboard thing behind the bed. free on craigslist, oh yeah.
these are not the same color...on the left is "chris's den", a grey that was the first room we painted (before we even moved our furniture in), and then there's my bathroom with some donated leftover paint that mary had. it's actually blue, not grey. and i can't get motivated to actually finish. i think it's because i have to take down the bathroom cabinet.
last week we started our fern shade garden. that's the driftwood we brought back when we went to cape disappointment. the area looks a little sparse and sad right now, i know, but it just needs some time to grow. when i was digging up some of the dirt in the area, i guess i released some mysterious spore into the air. the next day our back patio was covered in a lime-green powder and now more moss is starting to grow. huh. hope i didn't inhale those.
this is the red paint i was whining about. laundry room/hallway to garage. more leftover mary paint, generously donated. i also did the floor in this room with classy stick-on vinyl tiles.

expensive new wheels

well, we finally got the new van after months and months of delays. it's quite the step up from out old piece of crap. we traded it in, in a most classy way, totally discusting with an empty gas tank. we were practically coasting into the parking lot on fumes. i should have taken a picture but oh well. so here is the new van. it has a bunch of fancy buttons and controls, i'll post some more pictures on flickr when i actually take them. then you can take in every glorious detail. anyway, this is chris and mike, a guy that worked at the dealer (and was impossible to ever get in touch with over the phone).

in other news, when will i ever learn to use primer when i paint things red?
