back to the old grind
is that how the saying goes? i don't know. oh well. anyway, it was great to see everyone during the exciting trip home. got to hit up the old columbia hangouts, including el rancho. i enjoyed it, as you can see.

mmmmm....cheesy rice

some other pictures from the trip are posted on flickr. the weather was great in missouri, and as soon as we got off the plane in spokane friday we were greeted with a dreary cold drizzle. what a lovely welcome home. we got back to the apartment and the cats were happy to see us, then i had to head to work within an hour or so and work the whole night. poop. and that's where i've been practically every waking hour since; i launched straight into a week of overnights. ben and i did some schedule switching so we split up our overnights into one week at a time. i think it's going to work out great; monday's shift is almost over and already i see the light at the end of the tunnel. so we didn't get the expected caseload of dogs eating a bunch of thanksgiving leftovers and getting pancreatitis or turkey bones stuck somewhere or the like; the closest i got was a dog that ate a bunch of chocolate and a dog that ate a rubber superball (that one had to go to surgery).
so for those wondering what the heck my halloween costume was, the answer is here.
